Log 5. Sassafras log. A small black heart showing at the butt, pale at the head, with some machine damage along the log length. The log has bark inclusions and knots. Length 4.5 m, butt diameter 55 cm, head diameter 48 cm, volume 0.94 m3, weight about 1000 kg.
