Log 15, Leatherwood, plain. A curved log with two small dry scars at the butt end with obvious pin hole borers exits and rot stain to the heart. It also has steep surface spiral grain and sun cracks in the sapwood and at the ends. No visible fresh pin hole borers. Length 3.3 metres, butt diameter 32 cm, head diameter 27 cm, volume 0.22 cubic metres, weight about 250 kg. During harvest planning STT exclude areas rich in leatherwood from coupes however if usable leatherwood logs are found during harvest operations these are recovered for timber production.
