Musk - Olearia argophylla
Musk is a small understorey tree, 5m to 15m tall, the largest of the Tasmanian daisies. It is renowned for its burl clusters and often large basal burls. The wood is fine grained and yellow/cream to having a slight greenish tinge. Veneers of burl musk can often be seen as inlay in Tasmanian wooden antiques. It produces a very intense lustre, figure and tight burl. It is difficult to dry but works well.
